Senior, mature… 2 words, many meanings although we want to take them from a glamourous angle. Let’s say that the women that fit in these categories have experience real Hollywood glamour, have been hit by the Saturday night fever and have in many ways left us with mesmerising retro pictures and wardrobes full of vintage clothing. A fashion evening out in Milan

HOGAN Boxing style worn out sneakers

HOGAN Boxing style worn out sneakers

Yesterday was late opening day on via Montenapoleone so no wonder that I went there around 7pm to check it out. I was not really expecting anything, of course the crowd and some instore aperitivos made the happening but no real fashion was to be seen. As expected it was more the non fashionistas that were attending then the experts. First as a member of the fashion tribe, I know the winter collections too well and I am already looking toward SS11, second I have almost bought all my essentials for the cold season so do not need to browse. However, I must say that two stores should I say two windows (one of the few labels that decided to not participate) caught my attention: Hogan and Celine.

To be totally honest, I have never been a Hogan fan (I do not believe in flats) but yesterday night I fell in love with some of their new sneakers… OMG, what happened to me? Ok, far from the traditional tennis shoes, they are boxing inspired and have a  midnigt appeal… Think sequins and suede patchworks on matching leather. For Celine, I just found the forties style shoulder bags I was looking for. Structured, in thick leather or exotic skin, lady-like handbags to carry over a boyish suit but with high heels, please! It is a fly-high clothing conversation.

The umo facial spa, the new skincare intelligence

The Umo Facial Spa

I love it when skincare gets intelligent and the UMO Facial Spa is about as clever as it comes. Ready for the science bits? The UMO Facial Spa creates an ‘Ultra Nano Mist’ that is so fine that it penetrates the layers of your skin far, far more deeply than a scrub in the shower ever could. More »

Grayce by Molly Sims just launched costume jewellery line

Be grateful & graceful is a motto we should all have in mind when we step out of the bed in the morning. Molly Sims who learned it from her mother, has re-interpreted these 2 words into jewellery. She launched her line called “Grayce by Molly Sims” at Henri Bendel in New York last week via a pop up store. Molly’s line is exclusively available at Henri Bendel until Wednesday and will then be sold on www.graycebymollysims.com as well as in selected stores around the world. For us, fashion savvy Londoners, we will be able to discover and try on the glittery baubles at Matches. More »

Maxime Simoens… one to watch closer…

Enter Maxime Simoens' Temple, spring summer 2010 collection

Enter Maxime Simoens' Temple...

Maxime Simoens is a lovely young man that has created less than a year ago his own brand at the age of 25. As a teenager, he wanted to be a film producer but had a brainwave while looking at an ad campaign for one of Madonna’s concerts. The queen of pop music was wearing an outfit designed by Jean Paul Gaultier and the goal was set: “I want to work for him one day!” . More »

Roland Mouret autumn winter 2010-2011 show during Paris Fashion Week

Roland Mouret autumn winter 2010-2011 Collection

RM by Roland Mouret is definitely synonym with perfect moulted dresses where only flattering attributes are revealed. Yes, Roland Mouret will once again answer our cocktail evening rescue call. But mentioning only dresses would be an insult to this autumn winter collection that brings out teddy hoody coats, draped jackets and just above the knee to mini skirts. More »
