Day 3/ London Fashion Week…Todd Lynn won the game.
Todd Lynn takes us for a hunting journey next AW10. The trip should be more than interesting as suggested by the calibre of people who attended the show. I sat right behind Janet Jackson, across the catwalk from Suzie Menkes and not so far from Harold Tillman.
Todd is a confirmed talent as we know and has yet again managed to exceed expectations. Lean silhouettes underlined by gilet shapes, Todd’s signature cut, and cigarette pants with leather-embellished slash pockets. The colour palette reflects nature, the tones are taupe, fawn and black on fabrics that range from ponyskin, leather and fur to cotton and stretch wool. A combination of softness and strength that emphasises a balanced proposal. Nothing has been left aside. The high standard of finishes can be seen on mix knits and three-piece shoulders. Collaborations are strong on this collection: “Guerrière” boots with multi-buckle straps by Christian Louboutin and gloves alongside lace-up elbow guards by Perrin of Paris. Todd’s AW10 women have a ready-to-hunt wardrobe that will surely allow them to challenge the unpredictable.
Sharp tailoring is to be remembered from this show as well as the nod to Rick Owens. Indeed, some of these warrior looks have fox fur shoulders, which is fortunate as I am a huge fan of Rick…
